Painting a 14 Month Old's Toenails

A few things I learned while painting my 14 month old's toenails:

1. A 14 month old is generally too young for such a feminine spa like experience.

2. You must strap a 14 month old into a seat of some kind in order to keep her from moving around too much.

3. You should never paint nails at the kitchen table because you might spill some hot pink polish on your table and it doesn't just "wipe off."

4. If you have fidgety 14 month old, it's just a bad idea in general, because she might start hysterically crying half way through your endeavor, but you are too far into it... so you have to finish.

5. You must grip a 14 month old's little foot like your life depends on it, and make animal noises and sing songs at the top of your lungs to make said 14 month old laugh and forget that you are gripping her foot so tightly.

6. When finished painting you have to keep gripping the little feet until the paint dries which will feel like an eternity. Animal noises and songs are still important at this step.

7. Your 14 month old will not have perfect looking pink toenails... but when she looks down at them and LOVES them and says "oooooooo wow." It makes it worth it.

8. And when the 14 month old's Daddy comes home and swoops up the little one and dotes over her beauty and how cute her little toes are and the 14 month old just giggles and lays her head on his chest. It makes it worth it.

9. It's fun to bring out the "girliness" in your 14 month old daughter.

Don't you think?

Love you all!
