We're BA-AACK people!!
I'm not really sure how you pronounce "ba-aack"... it just seemed like the right thing to say.
So I'm sitting here munching on pretzels and drinking pink lemonade... my new obsession... and just Praising the Lord for a wonderful weekend trip with the hottie hubby and our friends!! I took no pictures so you'll have to use your imagination.
We headed to Dallas this past Good Friday afternoon to spend the weekend with Trent and Natalie and celebrate Easter with their church family. We were met at their house with amazing smoked brisket and ribs. Saturday was Gateway Fellowship's 4th annual Egg Smash. It was a community wide event for Royse City. About 600 people came out and it was so fun!! They had free food for the community and an egg hunt for the kiddos. Oh and of course... they literally smashed eggs with a big wooden mallet... hence the name Egg Smash. I missed the smashing however (and apparently funnel cake) to go with Natalie to Cade's soccer game. He's 8 and so you can imagine how much fun it was! His team won... of course... and we headed back to help "clean up" at the park. I say "clean up" in quotations because I just sat on the grass and watched and chatted with Natalie and Meaghan. Oh how I love them! The guys worked hard though... and we loved them for it. But see they had funnel cake... and we didn't. The Sunday Easter Service was so great! A storm had rolled in Saturday evening and so it was a fairly sleepy and rainy morning... but Trent's sermon was strong! After a big lunch, Tyler and I headed to our hotel in Dallas near the Galleria to stay for a few days.
We had such a blast shopping, and celebrating, and had some sweet "last" moments! I know that we'll be able to go on trips and things by ourselves from time to time... maybe, but never again without the responsibility of a little baby girl... who we are thrilled to the bone to meet. Saturday I about wore myself out traipsing around Dallas doing some shopping! The highlights of the day were... an afternoon snack of gelato... picking out baby girl's "coming home from the hospital" outfit (SOOOO important!!) with her daddy... and dinner at Benihana!!
Yesterday we headed to Ikea to get some new furniture and lighting for Tyler's new studio. It was a blast! Just in case I haven't said anything about that yet... we are turning our workshop building in the backyard into a full fledged studio for Tyler. Bless the Lord! He'll be able to "leave the house" to go to work and maybe I won't bother him so much!! We got a really comfy chair for the studio at Ikea so I'm sure that baby girl and I will be making frequent visits to say HI and chat while I'm sitting in the comfy chair.
My potted plants look very sad after our time away... I'm not sure what to do about that.
Well I'm off to do some resting before our Wednesday night church festivities!!
Love you all like crazy!!
