THE U2 TRIP

When TDodds bought tickets for the U2 concert back in April, someone said to him... "Wow, this is like #1 on your life's to-do list." And Tyler responded in all seriousness, "No... this IS my life's to-do list." So needless to say, the last couple of days were very exciting!

Sunday after church and lunch with a couple of BFF's, we dropped Aubrey and everything she owned (or so it seemed!) off at my parent's house. This would be the first time we would leave her for 2 nights! After unloading everything and goodbye kisses, we set out for Arlington! We arrived at about 730PM and immediately pulled into the nearest Pappadeux's for some seafood awesomeness! We certainly kicked the diets for a few days. My bacon wrapped shrimp were delectable, and TDodds' seafood platter was like overflowing all over the table it was so big! After that, we checked into our hotel and turned in for the night. I can not even describe to you how amazing it was to get like 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep. What a treat!

Here is the view we woke up to outside our hotel window. Six Flags Over Texas... the height of romance people! Since it was Columbus Day, and the park was open... you could actually hear the whoosh of the roller coasters. And Tyler said he could hear people screaming... but I don't know about that. He must have spidey sense. It was kind of fun to watch though... I won't lie. Every time I looked at the Superman ride I thought of my mom. They have the same ride at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, and one time a few years ago... me, my mom, and brothers went for a day of fun, and my mom loved that ride so much... we rode it like 5 times. She's quite the daredevil!
It was a cloudy, cool, dreary, rainy day... but that didn't stop us from having a blast! Oh no! We started our day with an early lunch at Pei Wei, and then grabbed coffee at Starbucks and headed to Sprinkles for some cup cakes. I love that place. TDodds ordered a vanilla milk chocolate cupcake...
My cupcake was mocha flavored. It was chocolate heaven...
After that, we walked through Northpark Mall... my favorite. And I had to see if I needed anything from Janie and Jack for Aubrey Grace. I left empty handed... they didn't have anything "that" marked down. We then drove back to the hotel for about 30 minutes to freshen up and then drove to the new Dallas Cowboys monstrosity... I mean stadium... for the concert of the century. Here are the Dodds with their tickets... Can't you feel the excitement!?

Oh and look who we just happened upon! It's Chris and Craig!!!!!!
So... I hate to be a disappointment... but I have zero pictures from inside, because I couldn't take my camera since it's also a video camera. AND, TDodds' phone died about 5 minutes into our adventure. So no IPhone photos either. It's alright... we have memories stored away in our hearts. The concert was amazing. However, I think we were both slightly disappointed, because U2 is known for their elaborate, incredibly awesome, and innovative shows. But this one was rather plain. I mean, the set was awesome... but compared to other tours... it just didn't seem as amazing. Or maybe we had built it up for so long in our heads, that we were disappointed just because we had such unreal expectations. All that aside, it really was an amazing concert. We feel so blessed we were able to be there... together... alone! We had so much fun.

We slept in a little Tuesday morning, and then after a lunch at Uncle Julio's started the drive home. I was so ready to see my sweet Aubrey Grace... I had missed her so much!!

Oh and what's on my life's to-do list you ask?? A few at the top would be whale watching in Cape Town, South Africa. Going on a hot air balloon ride. Doing all of my Christmas shopping in one day at the Mall of America. Having a hot cup of coffee at the top of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Oh and I must... MUST go to Serendipity in New York for a piece of cake, after I've bought a pair of black gloves at Macy's (or is it Bloomingdale's? I can't remember) and then gone ice skating. For Serendipity is my favorite movie. *sigh.* And if you have no idea what I'm talking about... you really should see the movie. Oh I could go on and on... they are small things really... I have a long list. But thanks for asking!

Have a happy Wednesday!
Love you all,
Bails
