I've missed you!

I took the weekend "off" from stalking blogs and facebook, and worrying with emails.  It was rather nice!  Mom, my brother Riley, and I made the trek to Boerne (pronounced Berney), to visit my Mema (my mom's mom) this past weekend.  It was great to be able to visit, rest, and spend time with my fam.  Saturday we did get out and do some shopping.  I was exhausted by the time it was all said and done!  My Mema is a shopper if I've ever known one.  I'll never forget one time when I was like in the 6th grade, we all (my mom, me, and 2 brothers) went to the outlet mall in San Marcos.  Which is huge by the way.  We spent HOURS and I mean HOURS looking for the perfect pair of shoes for a certain outfit of hers.  It was NUTS, but if anyone knows how to put an outfit together... it's Mema.  The highlight of that day was going into the SAS shoe store where they served us original Coca-Cola in glass bottles and popcorn.  My brothers and I didn't want to leave that store.  We loved SAS.  It's still a big joke for all of us... shoe shopping.

Today I felt a bit like Wonder Woman.  Tyler is putting the finishing touches on Bill's project, so I spent the better part of the afternoon outside... pulling weeds.  I'm still not done.  We have these plants in our back yard that needed special attention.  I'm still not sure what they are called... but a neighbor has them too... so I waited to see what they did to prune the plants this season and then copied them.  Basically you cut them down to the stalk and then let them grow back.  It took FOREVER.  We have more on the side of the house that I will tackle tomorrow.  The rest of our flower beds have white rocks... Praise the Lord... so I just had to pull a few weeds that were poking through.  I do not have a green thumb... obviously... since I don't care what the plants are called in our backyard... so I'm thankful that most of our beds have ROCKS.  Tyler is in charge of all mowing, fertilizing, and edging, so I don't have to worry about that!  He enjoys yard work.  Strange.

Tyler just told me and I quote, "It's highly gratifying (meaning yard work) to raise something from the dead every year."

Hmmmm...

I'm off to put clean sheets on our bed and then crawl in and go to sleep!

Sweet dreams!!
