Our Weekend...

This past weekend was a blur of blah with tinges of fun! Tyler and I both as of Friday started feeling under the weather. Tyler more than me. I was just SO lethargic. Tyler had a soar throat and achy low grade fever. Yuck. I ended up not working on Friday. Oh well, that's the beauty of substitute teaching!

Friday evening, a HUGE storm rolled in. I love when this happens in Georgia. The sky gets so dark. Dark enough that all the street lights come on. I always open all of our blinds, get my p.j.'s on and cuddle under my quilt when this happens and just watch. We are on the second floor, so we can see the sky really well. Before it started raining, Tyler decided that he was going to beat the rain and go get us some dinner... well by the time he got home, the sky had unloaded and it was pouring. But good thing he is a fast runner! He didn't get too wet. I was craving mashed potatoes... I've been on Weight Watchers for a few weeks now and mashed potatoes are generally out of the question. BUT... at KFC, a single serving of mashed potatoes is only 3 points. You have no idea what good news this is! So, Tyler brought me some KFC mashed potatoes... and I was grateful. I can't make mashed potatoes at home when I am on a diet, because it is possible that I will eat the whole pot. I would never do this usually... only when I'm on a diet. Isn't that strange!?

Saturday, Tyler and I just hung out at home, and then we were both feeling fine that afternoon so we went on a date! We have really been into going to the movies lately, and someone gave us a giftcard, so we went and saw Stardust, because we had really already seen everything else worth seeing. I usually really like fantasy movies (Pirates of the Caribbean, Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings...) but this movie was ridiculous. I really didn't like it. The love story part of the movie was sweet, but I had a hard time getting into the story. Tyler and I were both disappointed. I recommend this movie only as a rental, and only if you are truly bored out of your mind. After the movie, we went and ate dinner at Olive Garden. I found my new favorite thing... "Rosemary Chicken con Broccoli." Oh my, it was amazing... and really healthy if you only eat a small portion of the pasta. We stayed for a while just talking, and then we drove home. We thought about going to Barnes and Noble, one of our favorite places, but Tyler started feeling bad again. So we hit the Starbucks drive through and then went home.

Sunday, Tyler woke up with the chills, feeling awful and naseous, so we stayed home from church. We never left the house yesterday! NOT ONCE! Another storm hit that afternoon, so it was a cozy day! We both feel worlds better today... hopefully it will stay that way.

Guess what!!! Tyler and I are coming to Texas in September. Courtney pay attention: We are driving to Boerne, TX (San Antonio) on Monday Sep. 24. to stay with my Mema and maybe... hopefully... see Courtney and Josh. Then on Wed. the 26 Tyler is doing an event at a church in San Marcos. Then the next day we are driving to MIDLAND for a special event that night. Some of our best friends, Jody and Mike Gulley started a ministry called "Kaleidoscope." And they are having a special awareness and informational dinner Thursday night that we wouldn't miss for the world. We are so excited, because we strongly support what they are doing for underprivileged children in Midland. WE LOVE IT! Then we will spend the rest of the weekend hanging out with my family and seeing some friends! I can't wait!

I really should start blogging daily or you people are going to get tired of reading such long posts!
Love to all,
The Dodds'ssss
